Transcript of oral history interview with Leonard Rist is held on July 19, 1961

In July 19, 1961, Leonard Rist was interviewed on behalf of the World Bank Group Archives oral history program by Robert Oliver. During his tenure at the Bank from 1946 to 1970, Mr. Rist worked in the following areas: in France as the alternate executive director (1946); in the economics department as director (1946-1961); as special representative for Africa (1961-1963); and as special advisor to the president (1963-1970). His transcript focuses on bondholders, creditworthiness, and defaults. He briefly discusses concerns about burdens arising out of debts to others and burden arising out of debts to itself at the World Bank.
